Appetizer Recipes

Notes:

  1. You may serve these appetizers on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day for football if you prefer. Since many people like to serve the traditional black-eyed peas on New Year's Day, you may want to serve Texas Caviar on the 1st.

  2. Make the Texas Caviar and Cheese Ball a day ahead so they can chill.

Menus 4 Moms recipeTexas Caviar

Although called caviar, this is a veggie and bean relish that has nothing at all to do with fish. It is delicious, and in Virginia we have a similar dish we call Virginia Caviar. This one has a Tex-Mexican flare.

Chill overnight and let flavors mingle. Serve with Fritos. Yummy!

Arrange meats and cheese on a platter with lettuce around the edges and tomato and onion slices in the center. Rolling the meat slices makes a nice presentation. Serve buffet style with condiments and rolls.
